Myweathertech.com: Idaho Iodine Levels Skyrocket
-- This happened in Boise almost a month ago and it makes several points. First, no part of North America is any more or less at risk than any other. The entire Northern Hemisphere is at risk, especially as long as Fukushima remains uncontrolled. High radiation levels have turned up in France and Norway. Media silence over Fukushima is as alarming as a recent Japanese law making it illegal to say or publish overly negative opinions or information about the incident. Trying to keep up with all the information available is too much for us just yet. Around the country there are many National Weather Service/NOAA public monitoring stations and many universities and hospitals are equipped with sophisticated detection equipemnt. It just all needs to be pulled together and analyzed for immediate local access and response. The U.S. government is most certainly tracking all of this very carefully as a national security issue. But it seems as if they don't want us to see it. Collapsenet isn't big enough to pull this off. Hopefully this will emerge ad hoc as we choose to confront collapse. There's a really big hole in what we're able to find out about how...

3rd Biophysical Economics Conference, April 16, 2011 : Beyond Hubbert: What down slope can we expect?
This is an interesting article that was recently posted that suggests that a decline in US employment will cause a decline in demand for oil and extend the life of the world's oil - Demand destruction. Would this then suggest that the reason US politicians do little to improve unemployment is because they know there is no oil to support continued growth and they are just stalling?

Associated Press: Economists: Only oil can stop the recovery now
Good News!!! All we have to worry about is Peak Oil!
"The American economy is now strong enough to withstand Middle East turmoil and the Japanese nuclear crisis. Only a big rise in the price of oil could stop it now.
Those are the findings of an Associated Press survey of leading economists, who are increasingly confident in a recovery that is nearly two years old. They expect the economy to grow faster every quarter this year."
