Capital Vue News: South, Central China Hit By Severe Diesel Supply Shortages
"... most of the private gas stations mainly procure diesel from local refineries in Shandong province, and though prices had dropped, the gap between the wholesale and retail prices of diesel ranges from between 100 yuan and 200 yuan.
This means that the more diesel a station sells, the higher the loss it will incur, added Shen.
Liao Kaishun, an analyst at ICIS, said supply shortages of diesel in southwest and central China, unlike those in east and south China, were due to transportation problems.
The water level of the Hsiang River at Changsha reached a historic low of 25 meters, undermining the ability of large vessels to enter the port, said analysy He Jieying, analyst at 315.com.cn.
