Forget Bernanke: A Paper At Jackson Hole May Have Changed The Future Of Economics
The paper's bottom lie recommendation:
"It's not that the Fed will keep rates low until the economy improves, or unemployment falls below 6%, or until inflation really starts picking up, it's only that the Fed won't ease up on the gas pedal until the economy is fully at its full output potential. The idea is that the Fed is sending a huge signal to businesses: We're going to keep money cheap for a long time, even once the economy is gaining steam, so that if you're in the game then, you're going to make huge profits. All uncertainty about when rates are raised is taken off the table, and the Fed maintains all the credibility in the world, so long as it just sticks to that goal." - JO

Spain's Budget Deficit Already Exceeds Maximum for Entire Year; Path of Convergence
Spain has a history of spending too much money. They squandered a 200 year head start in the America's building cathedrals and buying trinkets from the far East. They thought the party was never going to end and squandered it all instead of industrializing as the British, French, and Germans. Bad habits are hard to break... Spain has never recovered, returning to their bad habit, and the proof is in the pudding. -- Collapse Network Staff

Iran’s first nuclear power plant operating at full capacity
Are the Israeli's going to strike now? And thus effectively and purposefully creating a Fukushima/Chernobyl inside of Iran. The world does not have has the stomach for that and such a hostile action would definitely warrant a retaliatory strike. Iran would strike first and Russia would ensure a sterile holy land if Israel took things fully nuclear. Where the tit for tat would end is anyone's guess but let us all hope that cooler heads prevail in the middle east.
If Israel doesn't strike, it is then a quiet capitulation (of Israel and the United States) recognizing the Islamic republic's growing clout and relevance in geopolitics. This is something to keep an eye on, especially because Iran want's to open a second reactor in the future. It makes sense for Iran to use as little oil and gas as possible to generate electricity using other means. The price of increasingly scarce petroleum products will continue to climb and they can use more of it domestically to improve their own standard of living. Dairy cows at the CNE in Toronto are locked in place
"For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" Isacc Newton, Third Law of Motion. Newton's laws of nature were written to describe energy, mass, force, and motion. However, this law can be applied to other phenomena across the universe.
Industrialized farming accounts for large portions of our food consumption. Over the past few years there has been a plethora of documentaries released highlighting the evils and dangers of such practices.
A recent expo in Toronto has provided a fresh example and opportunity to remember that how we treat our fellow organisms on Earth will have a equally horrendous effect on us (humans) in the long run.
"The dairy cows are confined to their tiny cube for most of the day. When asked how often the animals are allowed to move around the staff smiled saying that they are given break once a day where they are walked outside behind the building."
We must consume animals to survive, but to turn them into our slaves and treat them like robots is over the line. We consume: stressed, abused, neglected, homone injected, antibiotic full, poorly fed, unfit, sickly, and ruthlessly killed animals. What do we think we will get out of this?
Newton's third law is striking as we see that our food stocks are collapsing worldwide. Newton scientifically described what many have studied millennia: Karma. And we as a species have some bad Karma right now; at least a few of us are trying to turn it around before it is too late. -- Collapse Network Staff
