Just before his untimely death, which I believe was murder, my friend, the late Matthew Simmons was almost frantic. As the world's largest energy investment banker he went on every media outlet he could find, screaming that there was an untapped leak a great distance from the Deepwater Horizon wellhead. Over and over again he screamed it, until he was found dead in his hot tub. He kept screaming that nothing had been solved and that the Gulf of Mexico was dead.
It is difficult to remember how many good friends I have lost along the way.
