I noticed that while this was happening all U.S. media that I saw were totally mum on it. As I write this I am looking at what is by far the largest single drop in DJIA futures I have ever seen, down 242 in advance of tomorrow's opening. Anectdotally, when I see DJIA futures down 30 to 50 points, I expect a 200-400 point daily drop. God only knows what a futures decline of this magnitude means.
But yes, this bloodbath was inevitable and is a continuing part of the accelerated collapse I saw coming after Fukushima. It is just not possible to even fake and lie about growth anymore. I repeat that the unwinding is happening very fast. The U.S. Postal Service may well be gone by year's end. We had a story on that over the weekend. No paper investment of any kind is safe now, not even Treasuries. And I suspect that in very rapid disorder a great many things that we have taken for granted are going to disappear, almost overnight. I'm afraid that one of them will be social order. -- MCR
