BBC News Asia: Vietnam admits deploying bloggers to support government
Vietnamese propaganda officials have admitted deploying people to engage in online discussions and post comments supporting the Communist Party's policies.
The party has also confirmed that it operates a network of nearly 1,000 "public opinion shapers".
They are assigned with the task of spreading the party line.
The tactic is similar to China's model of internet moderators who aim to control news and manipulate opinion.
'Political opportunists'
Hanoi Propaganda and Education Department head Ho Quang Loi said that the authorities had hired hundreds of so-called "internet polemists" in the fight against "online hostile forces".
While the exact number of these activists is unknown, Mr. Loi revealed that his organisation is running at least 400 online accounts and 20 microblogs.
Regular visitors on popular social media networks in Vietnam such as Facebook have long noticed the existence of a number of pro-regime bloggers, who frequently post comments and articles supportive of the Communist Party.
The bloggers also take part in online discussions, where they fiercely attack anybody who they see as critical of the regime.

Jerry Mazza, Online Journal: Following Zakheim and Pentagon Trillions to Israel and 9-11
”Some of you have argued that we are singling out Rabbi Zakheim because he is Jewish, implying that we are pushing some sort of twisted anti-Semitic agenda while noting that he is not the only one who signed the PNAC document and therefore wondering why our article is about him and not the others. We do not mean to imply that the Rabbi acted alone, our article simply points out that Rabbi Zakheim had access to things like structural integrity, blueprints and any number of important facets of information about the WTC through his work with TRIDATA CORPORATION in the investigation of the bombing of the WTC in 1993. “That he had access to REMOTE CONTROL Technology through his work at System Planning Corporation (SPC). That he had access to BOEING AIRCRAFT through a lease deal HE BROKERED while working at the Pentagon. . . Finally that he was part of a group of politically radical Straussian Neo-Conservatives, who, through their association with PNAC, called for restructuring of the Middle East, noting that a Pearl Harbor type of event MAY BE NEEDED to foster the frame of mind required for the American public to accept such a radical...

zengardner.com: Military "Suiciding" Reaches Top SEAL Commander?
While we know the trauma of war and seeing the carnage first hand is horrific, on top of that many of these people see the unprovoked operations on innocent civilians and are forced to participate. That and witnessing the drug running operation, collusion with private contractor killers who are immune to military law, and staged terrorist operations in public places that are blamed on insurgents when it’s of our own doing.
You find that out and it will show on your face if you have a conscience. You then become a potential enemy of the operation and target for “friendly fire” like Pat Tillman was. Or, if need be, a convenient “suicide”.

Associated Press/Yahoo News: CIA Chief Petraeus resigns over affair
"Yesterday afternoon, I went to the White House and asked the President to be allowed, for personal reasons, to resign from my position as D/CIA. After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours," he said. "This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation."
Petraeus, 60, has been described as the father of the military's counterinsurgency doctrine. The charismatic officer had been cited as a possible future presidential or vice presidential prospect. His wife, Holly, has worked inside the Obama administration, serving at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

al-Arabiya: Assad behind deadly mall blaze in Qatar: leaked documents
"In May, a shopping mall blaze in Qatar killed 19 people, most of them children at an unlicensed Doha nursery"
This is, of course misinformation - what better pretext for Qatar and Saudi Arabia to enter war with Syria?

KrebsOnSecurity: Chinese Hackers Blamed for Intrusion at Energy Industry Giant Telvent
A company whose software and services are used to remotely administer and monitor large sections of the energy industry began warning customers last week that it is investigating a sophisticated hacker attack spanning its operations in the United States, Canada and Spain. Experts say digital fingerprints left behind by attackers point to a Chinese hacking group tied to repeated cyber-espionage campaigns against key Western interests. In letters sent to customers last week, Telvent Canada Ltd. said that on Sept. 10, 2012 it learned of a breach of its internal firewall and security systems. Telvent said the attacker(s) installed malicious software and stole project files related to one of its core offerings — OASyS SCADA — a product that helps energy firms mesh older IT assets with more advanced “smart grid” technologies.

ABC: Iran gives new hint of pre-emptive strike
A senior commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards has warned Tehran could launch a pre-emptive strike on Israel if it was convinced it was about to be attacked.
Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh says Iran will not start a war, but he reportedly told Iran's state-run Arabic language TV channel that it would launch a pre-emptive strike if it was convinced its enemies were putting the "final touches" on an attack.
He said Israel would not do so without America's support and in that case Iran would end up at war with both.
He said a conflict would have unpredictable consequences and could turn into World War III.

Zero Hedge: A World On The Verge Of War?
Needless to say, nobody could possibly foresee war as the outcome to the global depression ver 2.0: certainly not the Princeton historian who will be, more than anyone else, responsible for it.
