Senior US Marine Says "Multiple Platoons" Are Headed To Egypt
Very significant. There are probably Recon Marines and logistics specialists to scout possible helo landing locations and rally points. That means it pretty certain that there are already quite a few Green Beanies and SEALs deployed in civilian clothes already. There are a lot of Americans living in Egypt. Almost certainly the Marines will be deployed and staged in Egyptian military bases as a Rapid reaction Force. One other distinct possibility is that advance teams from all services are going to prepare for direct military deployment of large units from all services. That's really not a good sign for any number of reasons. It would be good to know if USAF advance teams are also being sent. That would signal preparation for a massive airlift, either of supplies, weapons, or troops. Egypt may well be (Oh, this is cheap), the straw that breaks the camel's back. -- MCR

American Warships Heading to Egypt
OK, it's looking like we're also planning for an opposed extraction of all embassy staff and USG personnel, along with citizens. It is also looking like very confused gunboat diplomacy. It might be possible that by treaty the USG has the right to deploy to Egyptian military bases at will. One thing we know for sure.
