I don't believe this one is a cover up, their justification makes sense. For the non-techies I'll explain whats going on: A piece of malicious software as part of it's programming reconfigures user's DNS servers to privately held/hacked servers. So when the user wants the IP address to google.com for instance it makes the request to these private servers instead of your ISP's servers. This allows them to direct requests whereever they want, possibly to fake versions of the requested website. The FBI has been running clean versions of these private servers so that all the users who are infected can still have internet but they are planning to no longer maintain these servers and thus once they are removed any user who is infected will no longer be able to make DNS requests and thus "loses internet". They could have worded the situation a lot better I think. These users have already "lost internet" (their DNS requests), and in fact it's been the FBI maintaining their internet up until now.

saw this warning to the public in the local Sunday paper today, buried all the way back on page A 15... wondering what kind of "divide and conquer" shenanigan this will be, and who is actually behind it, this time, or is it because we're now at the point where "staying connected" via the Net sucks so damned much power, and we'll soon be running on fumes now?
